FYI, the game starts at 0000h on friday night and finishes on Sunday at 1000h and is played on a decomissioned Canadian air force base. Check out www.operationcoldfront.com for details.
There will be 8 of us going, 4 from the devils and 4 from Deathshand. Should be an epic game.
More to follow. Road trip begins at Friday, noon.

Almost there...

1:00
Arrived at Rivers, MB.
After driving for 11 hours we made it to Rivers. We would have arrived on time for the game had we taken into account that Manitoba is in a different time zone (CDT). The cases we strapped to the top of the Yukon were covered with a slimy layer of insect guts.

1:00 - 1:30
Geared up and was transported onto the field in the 5-1/4 truck.
Because we technically arrived late, we missed the ride out in the Deuce. Gearing up in the dark was a very interesting experience.

1:30 - 3:30
Hopped over a 6' fence to try to flank the OpFor (Blue Team).
We slowly made our way to the Sewage Facility and then our CO called our entire team back.
The lights at our FOB. The humidity was unbelievable that night. We were totally socked in with fog.
3:30 Devils tasked with reinforcing the Steam Plant.
3:30 - 7:30
Held the Steam Plant and was finally rotated out for some food and sleep.
The pyro the Blue Team used was unbelievably loud inside the plant. I had one land beside me and go off. During the four hours, our team must have pushed back at least two squads.
The smoke as so thick all the way up to the 5th floor that it was hard to breathe. Pretty sure Otto suffered the worst on the 4th. Kimbo and Austins boys scooted up to the 5th to get out of it.
Steam plant.
Great sniping spots in the upper floors of the Steam Plant.
Sunrise at the hangar.
7:30
CP moved into the Steam Plant.
Kimbo's best 'Magnum"
Red Commander
7:30 – 10:00
We set up a small OP in the tree line on the west-side of the Steam Plant.
Had some breakfast. Finally a chance to catch a few winks.
10:00 – 12:00
Blue Team was spotted on the west-side of field; transported and inserted by truck.
Red Team engaged the OpFor at the warehouse loading dock. With a huge thunderstorm rolling in we were able to push them back.
12:00 – 12:15
We huddled together under a tarp with our gear for a little male-bonding time and waited out the storm.
Kim tried to send an update, but the web browser on the phone messed up.
12:15
The storm moved on and the weather cleared. Blue skies once again.
12:15 – 12:45
We moved the Devil OP to a small garage.
Our “starter home” was a real fixer-upper with lots of potential.

13:00
We went on patrol (south-side) with another squad. Met up with the guys from Death's Hand and decided to go and assault the Blue Force base. On the way, the OpFor harassed us with their gun truck. On their second pass, some unknown player shot out one of the windows on the gun truck with a silica BB. After a quick talk with MacRae to get the low down on the incident and for him to do a spot check, we continued on to the Blue Base. When we rolled through the base we found nothing of value, just players fixing guns and resting. We grabbed some water from cLoWn and then headed for the H Barracks.
We approached the H Barracks and sent FullOtto up to ring the doorbell. He asked if they had any cheese and promptly got lit up. The Blue Team had guns on the upper and lower levels of the H Barracks and basically halted our advance. In a last ditch attempt to take the H Barracks, Gish popped some marine smoke and we all rushed the building. Gish described it best, “it was a death-march”.
16:00
We returned to the FOB to re-spawn. We set up a small sleeping area in the backyard of our OP. Gish and I grabbed some water from the FOB to refill canteens and camelbacks.
16:30
Twelve guys from the Blue Team rolled through our OP as we slept. They waltzed through our sleeping area and then made their way to the Steam Plant. We didn't get much sleep as the OpFor were using pyro grenades. Luckily for us their assault on the Steam Plant failed. When the assault was over we got up and started to get ready. Yay, for us!
17:00
As we were prepared to go back out, our CO stopped by our OP to advise us that he was going to lead an assault on the H Barracks with a force of about 20 strong. The plan, if you call it a plan, was to head out at 17:30 and go f*ck stuff up. So we rolled out and made our way up the road to the H Barracks. Almost immediately we could hear the gun truck again, harassing the sh*t out of the Red Team. This time we had packed a little surprise for them. Gish and Kimbo prepared the AT-4 and FullOtto volunteered to run ahead and lead the gun truck back into range. Gish readied the AT-4 and used a patch of small trees for concealment. A few minutes later we heard the crew from the gun truck yell, “run rabbit, run”, as they chased FullOtto back to where Gish was waiting. As they swung the truck around to head back up the road, they finally saw Gish. Gish fired the AT-4 and neutralized the truck and everyone inside. I can’t wait to see the video clip.
As this was happening, our CO and the majority of the force he had in tow got wiped out. After trading some laughs with the guys in the truck and commandeering some pyro grenades, we pressed on to the H Barracks. From the second floor of the barracks, the Blue Team could see our approach through the field. Kimbo and FullOtto made their way up to a large patch of bushes and hunkered down, trading plastic with a couple of Blue Team players along the way. Gish and I moved up on the left trying to remove a Blue guy that was playing hide and seek with us from behind some farm machinery. After about 10 minutes, Gish and I concluded that reinforcements were not coming so we moved up to the machinery. Blue Team had guns on the upper floors and took me out as we advanced. Gish managed to find cover behind a tractor; the rear tires provided just enough cover for him to reload and nothing more.
With Gish trapped in a cross-fire between H Barracks 1 and 3, a fReAk from Edmonton emerged from one of the H Barracks with a pistol in hand. With the windows concentrating fire on Gish, he worked his way up to the tractor undetected and mercied Gish. Great teamwork by the Blue Team.
After trading a couple of laughs with the Blue Team, Gish and I started to head our way back to our FOB to respawn. I noticed that the Blue guys who were walking with us had forgotten about Kimbo and FullOtto in the bushes to our right. Gish and I walked with them for a bit and then stopped; letting the Blue guys walk right in front of where Kimbo and FullOtto had set up shop. I think in all the confusion they wasted 5-6 Blue guys before getting shot out as well.
19:00
After the failed assault on the H Barracks, we all headed back to the OP to respawn and make supper. We ditched our vests and blasters, and headed straight for our MREs. Gish had just finished boiling a big pot of water when we spotted a large force heading for our OP. None of us had any ammo or guns ready, so we scavenged whatever was nearby. In the end, the Blue Team tossed grenades through the windows and took most of us out. Gish hid in one of the side-rooms and waited for more Blue guys to enter our digs. He popped a few more before they took him out. In the end, we managed to take out nine.
20:00
After a quick bite to eat, Kimbo, FullOtto and me decided to go on a pistol-only recon mission. We donned sniper veils and ghillies, and headed back to the H Barracks. We snuck right up to the building and decided that we were going to steal the Deuce back. There were a bunch of Blue guys sitting beside the Deuce chillin' out and eating, so we stacked up at the corner of the building and then went for it. We mercied them all and then took up various positions around the Deuce: Kimbo hopped in the cab, I took up a spot at the rear and FullOtto went for the door to the H Barracks. As we were waiting for the Blue guys to remove their gear from the front of the Deuce, Paranoid woke up in the back of the truck and ninja-mercied me and Kimbo. Paranoid moved around the front of the Deuce and traded plastic with FullOtto. FullOtto took off inside the H Barracks and proceeded to mercy three Blue Team guys in their sleep. Meanwhile, Paranoid loaded pistol magazines into his pockets “Jack Bauer” style. They both played cat and mouse for a while. FullOtto came back around to the front of the H Barracks while Paranoid was inside sweeping the building with a couple of other guys. Paranoid’s teammates thought it would be funny if Daniel pretended to be on their team. So he sat down, removed his BDU top, grabbed a MRE and pretended he was eating with the other Blue guys. Eventually Paranoid came back out and remarked about not knowing where Daniel was. Paranoid holstered his pistol and then FullOtto calmly drew his pistol and shot Paranoid twice point blank.
21:00
The game debrief was held at the fire-hall.

IC sent us to reinforce you guys then changed their minds and sent us out on a recce mission that turned into a 4 hour skulking soaking experience, due to the early morning fog and dew.
Got back to the FOB at around 7:30 or 8 and hunkered down for some much needed sleep. Awoke to the Blue team rolling in on our west side, grabbed boots, gun and 3 mags and was right back into it lol.
As for your new digs, it would have been a nice place with some curtains. Oh, and if the Rivers Police Department decided to stay and fire off some rounds! (it was a firing range!)

Overall the game was fun for us, unfortunatly we needed to make our own fun as the command structure/objectives/information was F*ed up the entire time.
Would have been nice to have some more live updates for you guys but the phone coverage was pretty spotty on field.

There is a big thread going on on the ASC boards about this.
Wondering if you can give us some insight, please.
Thanks.

Silica BB's were banned from the game due to the threat to the glass in the vehicles being used.
Blue Force was in doing a drive by when engaged by Red Force when the passenger side rear window of the vehicle shattered.
Vehicle left area to avoid further damage and silica BB's were found inside of vehicle after.
Shooter bugged out immediately following the incident, we were given a clear description of what he was wearing and were unable to find him for the duration of the game.

Ya for sure, if you didn't go find something to do you could have just sat at HQ like most of RED team. The facility/playing field was for me anyway what kept things interisting enough to stay. $100.00 and a 26hr drive is a bit much for what was actually planned and related to us...don't get me wrong i had a blast, only because we made it fun within our Calgary group.
The rules seemed to be flexable when it gave the advantage to Blue, not calling hits was a huge problem and Command was very much lacking. The real pisser was mounting an attack on Blue HQ only to be told they were having lunch and not wearing glasses...so the attack was off.

They should have had glasses on, they were promptly yelled at once we returned from the silica BB hunt!
I will try to post up some additional comments when I have sometime. For the mean time I just want to thank you guys for coming out, one of my highlights was getting a mercy kill on Kimbo at the end of the game! I guess next time you guys will clear the back of the truck before trying to steal it.
