Rules and Regulations for JOC airsoft games

General Rules - Applys to both Indoor and Outdoor games

    Upon arrival to the field:

    Outdoor:
You should have your field fee ready as a member in charge of game fees will come around collect fees, & have you sign a waiver. Please make this your first order of business, as it will help to ensure a timely start to gaming. Be sure to listen to the Admins as to game start times and time lines

    Indoor:
Please pay your field fee to the Laser Trek front desk as soon as you arrive. If you have not played at Laser Trek before they will have a waiver for you to fill out. If you have already filled out their waiver before, simply give them your name when you pay your fee.

Please ensure that you gear up on time for game start. Ensure that any items not being used for the day are securely stored.

    Age Limits:
All players must be at least 16 years or older. Players under the age of 18 years must have written parental or guardian consent in order to play.

    SAFETY

    1. Ballistic rated goggles/glasses must be worn at all time while on the field. They must be put on BEFORE you enter the first door to the arena & NOT be taken off until you are back in the lobby. There is a ZERO tolerance policy for taking your goggles/glasses off on the field.

All glasses MUST be secured via a strap or string to your head at all times.

*If there is any question about the rating of your glasses/goggles they will be tested & if they are deemed unsafe &/or break during the test then it is your own fault not JOC's*

    2. All mags must be removed from your gun & the chamber is free of any bb's while in the safe zone. You can have a mag in your pistol but it must remain holstered. If you are taking your pistol out of your holster in the safe zone you must remove the mag before doing so. There is also ABSOLUTELY no dry firing in the safe zone. Not even one single shot to see if your gun is working. If you wish to test your gun please either enter the arena, or use the designated firing zone.

    3. Safe Zones: Upon arrival to the field, there will be designated safety areas assigned and marked. All players must respect this safety area as it is the ONLY place where goggles may be taken off. Players must not shoot within the designated safety area, including blank firing or gun testing. All of our fields have a firing at which you can test your guns. All players entering the safety zone must put the guns on safe.

    4. Knives: Any large knives (i.e. KA-BARs, bayonets, "Rambo Style" knives est.) are not to be carried on to the field at any time. Multi-tools, Swiss Army knives & small pocket knives are allowed if properly stored.

    5. Laser Products: Laser’s are allowed on the field; however, please do not shine it in people’s eyes. We do have a laser meter to identify the intensity of the lazer, if they are found to be too high you will be removed from the game.

    6. Smoke Grenades/Pyrotechnics: Cold burning smoke grenades are allowed to be used on most fields, please check with the Admin on site before use. Home made pyro is not allowed at any game, approval for any device is required from club admins before use at JOC events.

    7. Bio BBs: You are expected to use bio-degradable BBs any time it is required by a field owner/operator.

    8. When signing up you must include your full name + your board name to get the discount on wednesday nights. So 'Jesse Anderson - Phox' would work. As well you can't signup a friend who dosn't have a board name. As long as they have a JOC account they will get the discount. Eg. 'Jesse Anderson - Phox and Brad Murdoch - Flea'

    GAMEPLAY

    1. Airsoft is a sport based on the honor system. BBs do not leave any form of mark to denote a hit, so it is up to the individual to call themselves out. Failure to do so is obvious to those around you. Cheating not only dishonors yourself, but those you play with as well. It robs everyone of a fun airsoft experience.

Hits: A Hit is considered a BB hit anywhere on your body, gear or weapon. Ricochets do not count, but when in doubt call yourself hit anyways. Another game is only minutes away.
Calling others out - Please avoid yelling/screaming at a player. Be responsible and simply call out "I'm pretty sure I shot you in the shoulder" as long as you are 100% sure of it. Not all guns/shooters are 100% accurate so keep that in mind. Should any issues arise talk to a Game admin.

    2. When you have been hit call out "Hit" or "deadman" CONTINUOUSLY until you have left the arena or field. Walk in an upright position & sling/hold your gun over your head so you look non-threatening. Call "hit" or "deadman" loudly! Friendly fire counts as a kill! If you are using a pistol & your rifle is slung & it gets hit that counts as a hit & you are dead. The only exception is when the gun you are currently using gets hit, refer to rule 3. We encourage the use of "Dead rags" this is a square of cloth Red in color

*Dead walking is discouraged* (Acting like you are dead and moving to kill someone)

Gun hits: If the gun you are currently using (Ie: using your rifle & pistol holstered, or using your pistol & rifle slung), gets hit by a bb, or knife it is immediately disabled & you can no longer use that gun until the next game or if there is a respawn during the specified game. When your gun is hit you must call out "Gun hit!" to let the shooter know that they hit your gun. Once your gun is disabled you have to stop shooting it immediately & either switch to your secondary, a knife, borrow a gun off a buddy or you can call yourself out.

    3. JOC uses a barrel touch mercy kill rule. If you can touch someone with your gun barrel, without blindly shoving it around a corner, it counts as a mercy kill. Although you can engage players at close range please be courteous, no one wants to take a bb to the cheek from one foot away so aim for center mass, legs, feet, arms. Mercy kills can only occur with loaded weapons.

    4. Blind firing is forbidden at any event. Blind firing is when you stick your gun around a corner & shoot without having your head behind your gun to see what you are shooting at. JOC is very strict about blind firing. Every time you shoot you must be able to see what you are shooting at. If you are caught you will first get a warning, second time you will be told to leave.

    5. A number of people carry rubber training knives. These mat be used as weapons on field. Knives count as a kill anywhere on the body. If it is thrown at you & it hits you it counts as a kill. If you catch it, it still counts as a kill. It does not matter whether the blade or the butt of the knife touches you, it is still a kill. Rubber knife kills can be considered a silent kill. That is the person will request that you do not call HIT right away to allow them to silently move by. At the time of kill they will request that, you are to be quiet for a few minutes to allow the player to move away.

    6. If any of the Admins catch someone intentionally not calling their hits they will be sent home!

      Velocity Rules (Feet Per Second):
(all velocity testing will be done with 0.2g bb's)

      Outdoor Events:
      - 420 FPS for full auto guns
      - 480 FPS for bolt action and semi-only guns

      Indoor Events:
      - 320 FPS for all guns

      Select Fire:
      Indoor Events:
      - SAWs using standard LOWCAP mags may fire full auto. Please limit to short bursts
      - All other weapons are restricted to semi auto only
      - Three round burst is not allowed

      Outdoor Events:
      - Full auto is allowed for all weapons

    Indoor Specific Rules

    1. Grenades: - RED, and only red, glowsticks or chemical lights can be used as a grenade. They must be tossed underhand along the ground, no overhead throwing of them.
Killing: - Wherever the glow stick stops moving is where it is considered to explode. Everyone within 5 ft are considered dead.
As soon as a glow stick or light stick is cracked and glowing it is live. If shot holding a live grenade it is dropped immediately. Restriction to the number of grenades per team will be decided by game admin.

    2. Watch your fire up & down. There are 8' white lights in the arena that do not have protective covers & will break when shot by a bb or a ricochet. If a light breaks call the game over IMMEDIATELY. The person who shot the light needs to go get a broom & dustpan & clean it up.

    3. All weapons are restricted to semi-auto only! Some rifles have a three burst fire mode, this can not be used indoors either.

    4. Climbing is not permitted at lazer trek. You must keep your feet on the ground at all times. If someone wants to give you a boost up to check something out that is ok, however the moment you are hanging by your own power this is considered as climbing. Climbing also includes the top of the turret houses & the "TREK" letters in the arena.

    5. There are 2 doors into the arena, BOTH of these must remain closed at all times. Everyone is responsible for closing these doors so do not assume the person behind you will close it for you.

    6. There are small holes about 8" wide in the maze area that CANNOT be shot through for any reason from any distance back. You can look through them, shine a light through them but not shoot through them or at them for any reason. If there is a light placed in one of these holes you CANNOT shoot at the light.

    7. All M203 shells must be used in conjunction with an M203 tube. You can not fire the shells by hand.
      M203 Carry Rules
Grenadier - Weapon with underslung grenade launcher - Player may carry 4 shells on field
Dedicated Grenade weapon - As many as the weapon can hold in addition to a sidearm. If single shot see grenadier rule.
When firing M203 shells please be aware of distances and where you are aiming. Nobody enjoys taking 80 rounds to the face.
Ricochets from M203 shells do not count as hits.

    8. Indoor BB Weight: At our indoor location, it is required for everyone to use a minimum of 0.2g bb's. 0.12g bbs will fly too fast, & exceed our indoor FPS limits. All guns will be chrono'd with 0.2g bbs during our random chrono tests.

    9. Squad automatic weapons. Any weapon falling into the SAW role (M249, M60, RPK, etc) are permitted to use full auto indoors. However they must meet the indoor FPS limits and are limit to Lowcap magazines only Please be aware as well that the FPS reducer is ineffective for full auto fire, espically on fast firing weapons as SAW's are.

    Outdoor Specific Rules

    1. At some fields with man made cover you are only permitted to shoot out of cracks/holes that you are able to fit your closed fist through.
There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for people not following the rules. It is YOUR responsibility to know the rules, & at any time if you have any questions what so ever contact an Admin/Mod for assistance.

For more info, concerns, feed back. Please feel free to PM / Email any of the following JOC Admin Members listed here

    ** Please Note**
The JOC Admin's retain the ability to change/update any rule or ban any member for breach of these rules without prior notice.

When playing under any other club you are required to follow their rules and regulations. So please check with their clubs Admin or Mod before the game starts.
